# PostNord

> Track PostNord parcels and find nearby service points in chat

Connect a PostNord Developer Portal API key so customers can track parcels and find nearby pickup points (service points) in chat. BubblaV adds two chatbot tools; nothing is installed on your site through PostNord.

## Why Connect PostNord?

> **Live Parcel Tracking**
>
> Track a parcel by its tracking ID: status, estimated delivery, pickup point, recent events, and a link to PostNord's tracking page.

> **Service Point Lookup**
>
> Find the nearest pickup points by country plus postal code or city, with addresses, distance, and opening hours.

> **Nordic Languages**
>
> Status texts come in English, Swedish, Norwegian, Danish, and Finnish.

## Prerequisites

* A BubblaV website with edit access
* A PostNord Developer Portal account with an application API key

## Setup Steps

**1. Get an API key**

Create an application at [developer.postnord.com](https://developer.postnord.com) and copy its API key. For testing, use a sandbox key from [atdeveloper.postnord.com](https://atdeveloper.postnord.com) instead; sandbox keys return PostNord test data only.

**2. Connect PostNord**

Open that website's **Dashboard** → **Integrations** → **PostNord**, click **Connect**, and paste the key into **PostNord API Key**. Tick **This is a sandbox (test) key** only for sandbox keys.

**3. BubblaV adds the tools**

BubblaV validates the key with a live API call and adds the two PostNord tools to your chatbot.

**4. Test**

Ask the chatbot with a real tracking number, then with a postal code, to check tracking and pickup-point answers.

## Available Tools After Connection

| Tool | Parameters and Behavior | Example Query |
| - | - | - |
| `postnord_track_shipment` | Required `tracking_id` (10–35 letters/digits). Optional `language` (en, sv, no, da, fi). Returns status, estimated delivery, pickup point, the last 5 events, and a tracking-page link. | "Where is my parcel 00370712345678901234?" with a real ID |
| `postnord_find_service_points` | Required `country_code` (for example SE) plus `postal_code` or `city`. Optional `street_name`, `street_number`, and `limit` (1–10). Returns a list with addresses, distance and opening hours. | "Where can I pick up a parcel near 11234 Stockholm?" |

## Test Your Integration

Try these queries in your storefront chat:

* "Where is my parcel 00370712345678901234?" — replace the number with a real PostNord tracking ID from a recent parcel.
* "Where can I pick up a parcel near 11234 Stockholm?" — use a postal code that PostNord covers.

## Troubleshooting

> **PostNord rejected the API key on connect**
>
> Check that the **This is a sandbox (test) key** box matches the key type: sandbox keys come from atdeveloper.postnord.com and work only against the test host; production keys come from developer.postnord.com. A key that was just created may not be active yet — try again later.

> **Shipment not found**
>
> A newly created parcel can take time before it appears, so the number may be too new. Otherwise the number may carry a typo, or it may not be a PostNord tracking ID.

> **Service points fail with an access error**
>
> Your PostNord application may lack access to the **Service Points V5** API. Enable it in the PostNord Developer Portal, then test the chatbot again.

> **Replace the key or switch between sandbox and production**
>
> On the PostNord integration card, click **Disconnect**, then click **Connect** and paste the new key. Tick **This is a sandbox (test) key** only for sandbox keys.

> **Tools are missing after connecting**
>
> If BubblaV shows **Connected, but the chatbot tools were not added**, or tools are missing, open the integration's **Configure** page and click **Sync Tools**. Then check that the PostNord tools are enabled.

> [!NOTE]
>
> **Security**: Your API key is stored encrypted, and the tools only read data. A visitor only needs a tracking ID — the same as PostNord's own public tracking page. Receiver names and addresses are never shown in the chat.
