Connect BubblaV to Cursor through the BubblaV MCP Server. Ask Cursor’s agent to add the chat widget to the site you are building, check your chatbot’s performance, teach it new knowledge, and create custom tools for your API. You do not need an API key.

Why Connect Cursor?

  • Install the widget from your editor: The agent gets your embed snippet and adds it to your project
  • Build custom tools next to your API: Create webhook tools for the endpoints you write
  • Close content gaps: See what your bot could not answer and add the missing answers
  • Analytics on demand: Get a full report for any date range
  • No API key: OAuth handles the connection

Prerequisites

  • A BubblaV account. You can create one during the sign-in step
  • Cursor with plugin and MCP support

Connect BubblaV

1

Install the plugin

Open the BubblaV listing on the Cursor Marketplace and select Add to Cursor, or search for BubblaV in Customize. The plugin adds the MCP server and two skills: add-chat-widget and manage-custom-tools.
2

Authorize BubblaV

The first time the agent calls a BubblaV tool, Cursor opens the BubblaV sign-in page. Sign in, select the website (chatbot) to connect, and approve. If you do not have a website, choose to create a chatbot without one.
3

Try it

Ask the agent “Add the BubblaV chat widget to this app” or “Which questions could my chatbot not answer last week?”
After you approve, BubblaV creates an API key labeled Cursor in your account for the connection.

Add the MCP server without the plugin

Add this to ~/.cursor/mcp.json (all projects) or .cursor/mcp.json (one project):
Cursor detects that the server needs OAuth and shows a Connect button for BubblaV in Customize.

What You Can Ask

For the full tool reference, see the MCP Server developer guide. For ready-to-use prompts, see AI Agent Workflows.

Privacy

  • One connection gives access to one website (chatbot)
  • Conversations and leads can contain your visitors’ names, email addresses, and messages. The agent sees this data when a tool returns it
  • BubblaV logs every tool call. See Integrations → MCP Settings → Audit Logs
  • See the Privacy Policy

Rate Limits

MCP calls are metered separately from your chatbot messages, on a rolling 30-day window: When you exceed the limit, requests return a 429 with a Retry-After header. Check your usage under Integrations → MCP Settings in the dashboard.

Disconnect or Switch Website

Revoke the Cursor API key in your BubblaV dashboard. Then connect BubblaV again in Customize and pick the website you want during sign-in.

Troubleshooting

  • Open Customize, find BubblaV under MCP servers, and select Connect.
  • Revoke the Cursor API key in BubblaV and connect again. Pick the correct website during sign-in.
  • Make sure the BubblaV server is turned on in Customize.
  • Name the task directly, for example “Use BubblaV to get my widget snippet.”
