Add your BubblaV AI chatbot to Microsoft Teams. It answers from your website’s knowledge base in personal chats, and in group chats and team channels when someone @mentions it.

Why Connect Microsoft Teams?

Personal Chats

Colleagues chat 1:1 with the bot and get an answer to every message

@Mentions in Channels

@mention the bot in a channel or group chat; it answers in the same thread

Human Takeover

Agents reply from Live Support; the reply appears in Teams

Knowledge-Powered

Answers come from your website’s content, with source links

Prerequisites

  • A BubblaV account with a website that has knowledge base content. Connecting Microsoft Teams is available on all plans.
  • Edit access to the website in BubblaV.
  • A Microsoft Teams account in the organization you want to connect. Your organization must allow you to add apps in Teams.

Setup Steps

1

Open the connect dialog

Go to Dashboard → Your Website → Integrations → Built-in Integrations, find the Microsoft Teams card, and click Connect. The dialog shows a link code, for example ABCD-EFGH.
2

Add BubblaV in Teams

In Microsoft Teams, open Apps, search for BubblaV, and click Add.
3

Send the link code

Open a chat with BubblaV and send link followed by your code:
The bot replies Connected! The BubblaV dialog closes by itself and shows Microsoft Teams connected.
4

Test the bot

Ask the bot a question in the personal chat. Then add it to a team and @mention it in a channel.
A link code expires after 15 minutes and works one time. Click Generate new code for a new one; the previous code then stops working. Upper or lower case and the dash do not matter.

How the Bot Answers

  • The answer can end with a Sources list of up to 5 links from your website.
  • The bot reads text only. For a message without text, it asks you to type your question.
  • When you add the bot to a chat or team, it sends a short welcome message.

Live Support and Agent Replies

Teams conversations appear in your Live Support inbox with a Teams badge. You can filter the inbox by Microsoft Teams.
  • Each personal chat, group chat, and channel thread is a separate conversation.
  • When an agent replies from Live Support, the reply goes to the same Teams chat or thread. The AI does not answer while an agent handles the conversation.
  • Replying from the inbox requires a Pro plan, the same as for all channels.
  • The visitor profile shows the Teams user’s name. If Teams shares the user’s email address, BubblaV saves it as a lead.

Managing Your Integration

  • Pause: Turn off the toggle on the Microsoft Teams card. Until you turn it on again, the AI does not answer, and the bot replies that the organization is not connected.
  • Disconnect: Click Disconnect on the Microsoft Teams card. The bot then replies that the organization is not connected.
  • One organization, one website: A Microsoft Teams organization connects to one BubblaV website at a time. To move it to a different website, disconnect it on the first website, then connect it on the new one with a new code.

Troubleshooting

The code is older than 15 minutes, was already used, or a newer code replaced it. In the connect dialog, click Generate new code and send link <new code> again.
Your Teams organization is connected to a different BubblaV website. Disconnect it there first, then generate a new code on this website.
Nobody has linked your Teams organization yet, or it was disconnected. Open the connect dialog in BubblaV and send link <code> to the bot.
In channels and group chats, the bot only receives messages that @mention it. Type @BubblaV and select the bot from the list before your question. Make sure the bot is added to that team.
Your Teams admin may block apps from the Teams Store. Ask your admin to allow the BubblaV app in the Teams admin center.
